JANUARY EVENT - 25TH JANUARY 2012 - FITNESS TALK
On Wednesday 25 January the AWS ladies were treated to a Health and Fitness talk hosted by Elite Fitness in the beautiful surroundings of India Buildings. In an attempt to get fit and healthy for the year ahead we learnt that STRESS makes you fat!!! So ladies remember when you feel the files on your desk mounting and your blood pressure rising those fat deposits are making their way to your hips and tummy! SO RELAX!
Thank you to Kane from Elite Fitness who passed on his expertise and knowledge and hopefully we will all keep to the New Year’s promises we made on the night. Also a big thank you to the staff at India Buildings for looking after us on the night.
CHRISTMAS EVENT - 7TH DECEMBER 2011 - NOBLE HOUSE
On 7th December 2011 the AWS hosted their annual Christmas night. We were entertained by an award winning psychic in the decadent surroundings of Noble House.
The psychics definitely proved why they are award winning, reaching out to many of our members with amazingly accurate detail.
I would like to thank our group of psychics on behalf of the AWS members and their friends who attended the event for making this a truly wonderful evening. I would also like to thank Noble House for their hospitality and delicious food.
CLARINS NIGHT - 23RD NOVEMBER 2011
We would like to thank everyone who came to the Clarins night on Wednesday 23 November.
The night was presented by Rachel Hunter Beauty Clinic who demonstrated shellac for nails, hot stone massage and semi-permanent eye lashes. Many of our ladies have already booked themselves in for a pre-Christmas treat!
We would like to thank Chavasse Court Chambers for hosting the evening and Wesleyan for Lawyers for sponsoring the event.
We raised £57.00 from raffle sales which will be donated to our nominated charities.

LIVERPOOL CITY ROTARY CLUB - 26TH NOVEMBER 2011
On Saturday 26 November the AWS were invited along to Liverpool City Rotary Club formal dinner, held in the historic surroundings of Liverpool Maritime Museum.
We were treated to a wonderful and informative presentation about HMS Titanic whilst enjoying a glass or two of champagne, before sitting down to a scrumptious 3 course dinner.
We are delighted to be supporting Liverpool City Rotary Club and their worthwhile charities this year.

SHIVERPOOL - HOPE STREET - 20TH OCTOBER 2011
On Thursday 20th October, AWS members and their daring friends took part in the ghoulish Hope Street Shivers Tour.
Our authentic Dickensian tour guides, complete with gruesome facial injuries led us through the haunted streets of Liverpool, starting at the Philharmonic Pub and ending in the graveyard of the spectacular Gothic Anglican Cathedral. To shrieks of fear and laughter our guides told the story of Liverpool's ghostly and grisly passed.
Everyone had a fantastic evening and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the Director of Shiverpool, John Stone and our tour guides for such an entertaining evening.

ARCHERY - NETHERMOSS ARCHES - 10TH SEPTEMBER 2011
AWS members and their merry friends took up bows and arrows for an archery lesson with Nethermoss Archery. This was a fantastic day, learning new skills and making new friends.
Our instructors were friendly and welcoming and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Nethermoss Archery for such a brilliant day, they have definitely inspired an entire group of new archery enthusiasts!!

BEAUTY EVENING - PEACHES AND CREAM - 17TH AUGUST 2011
You may have noticed that a few of your colleagues had fabulous hair and glowing skin this week. Well I can let you into their secret, AWS ladies were treated to an evening of hair and beauty at Peaches and Cream (www.fabulousmakeup.co.uk).
The professional team at Peaches and Cream gave demonstrations on how to make our makeup look effortless and how to glam up our hair for the summer.

SUNDAY 17 JULY 2011, WIRRAL WALK
The AWS and friends joined forces with the Liverpool City Rotary Club for a Walk on the Wirral to raise money for their nominated charities. I am pleased to confirm we raised £80 for the Liverpool Rotary Club.
Despite the torrential rain we braved the elements and enjoyed a leisurely walk through the beautiful Wirral countryside. Everyone who attended agreed this was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and family.
We would like to thank Sheldrakes for their hospitality in accommodating very wet walkers! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely as always.
We would also like to thank everyone who attended and in particular Sandra McConnell for providing all our walkers with scrumptious refreshments
Zumba Lesson - India Buildings - 15th June 2011
Our Zumba fitness class held on 15 June 2011 was a fantastic success. The event was very well attended and everyone agreed this was the most fun they had ever had doing exercise!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our brilliant instructor from Movema and to all the staff at India Buildings for allowing us to use one of their rooms. I must also thank our sponsors for the evening, Wesleyan for Lawyers.
"Bring a Friend" Drinks Evening - Lady of Mann - 26th May 2011
On Thursday 26th May, the AWS held the first event of the new term, our "Bring a Friend" Drinks Evening.
Everyone agreed it was a fantastic night. It was brilliant to see some familiar faces join us for another year and we would also like to welcome all new members who joined on the evening. We look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming events.

AGM - India Buildings - 13th April 2011
Our AGM took place at India Buildings on Wednesday 13th April and a new committee has been appointed. We are really excited about the next 12 months and we hope to be able to host a brilliant and varied programme of events.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at India Buildings for allowing us to host the event in such beautiful surroundings.
Wesleyan for Lawyers, financial workshop After our AGM we were very excited to be given a free financial workshop from Wesleyan for Lawyers entitled 'Firm up Your Assets'. We have received very positive feedback from everone who attended the talk, which made financial planning seem a lot less daunting. The talk was fantastic and on behalf of everyone who attended, we would like to thank Wesleyan.
March Event - Charity Quiz Night at The Racquet Club - 18th March 2011
The AWS Charity Quiz Night was held at the Racquet Club in aid of the Amadudu Women's Refuge. Amadudu Women's Refuge is a local charity based in Liverpool that provides support and accomodation for women and children escaping domestic abuse.
The evening was a fantastic success and thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended we were able to raise £2,338.00 which we know Amadudu Women's Refuge will put to extremely good use. This donation would not have been possible without the generosity of everyone who attended and our sponsors, BIBBY Line Ltd, Wesleyan for Lawyers, Chavasse Court Chambers, MSB Solicitors and Abensons Solicitors.
We would like to thank everyone for making this event such a fantastic success.

February Event-Chick Flick Night at The Noble House-23 February 2011
On Wednesday 23rd February we held our Chick Flick Night at The Noble House, www.thenoblehouse.co.uk.
AWS ladies were treated to an exclusive evening at one of Liverpool's most talked about restaurants in the heart of Liverpool's business district. AWS ladies experienced the delectable delights of scrumptious food at The Noble House and we must say the deserts were fabulous! We enjoyed Hollywood's finest gracing the silver screen in the blockbuster 'Valentine's Day'.
On behalf of the AWS ladies we would like to thank Rob and everyone at The Noble House for making the evening possible.

January Event - Presentation from Lewis Bailey in India Buildings -19 January 2011
On Wednesday 19th January AWS ladies were lucky to receive a fantastic interactive presentation on health, wellbeing and nutrition from Lewis Bailey personal trainer http://www.elitefitnessconsultants.co.uk/find-a-personal-trainer/default.phuse
The aim of the presentation was to increase awareness of what we are eating and how we can all keep healthy with our busy and stressful lives. Lewis was motivational, taeching us how to balance our priorities, and most importantly how to stay healthy....without starving ourselves on fad diets!!
The AWS would like to extend our thanks to Lewis and his team for giving up thier time to come and speak to us.

Christmas Event-Miriam Shelvey Talk at The Noble House-8 December 2010
On Wednesday 8th December the AWS hosted their annual Christmas night. We were joined by District Judge Miriam Shelvey who gave a light hearted presentation entitled 'You wouldn't believe it.... tales from the bench'.
DJ Shelvey had many tales to tell and everyone agreed she was thoroughly entertaining. We would like to thank DJ Shelvey on behalf of the AWS members and their friends who attended the event for making this a truly wonderful evening.

Clarins Night at Chavasse Chambers - 17 November 2010
The AWS Clarins night was a huge success. We all split into groups for a tailor made tutorial on skin care and make-up tips from Rcahel Hunter and her team from 'Rachel Hunter Beauty Clinic.' Once were all looking fabulous, Jo from The Wardrobe provided us with some excellent make-up tips for the holiday season! After some nibbles and a glass or three of wine we all left with an amazing goodie bag!
Rachel Hunter Beauty Clinic and Wesleyan for Lawyers both provided fantastic raffle prizes....so not only did a lucky few win amazing prizes but we also raised money for our nominated charity Amadudu Women's Refuge.
Amadudu is based in Liverpool and provides support and accomodation for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Shiverpool Ghost Tour, St. Georges Hall - 28 October 2010
On Thursday 28th October 2010 a brave group of AWS members and their friends took part in the Shiverpool Ghost Tour of St. Georges Hall.
We went through the dark, eerie cells, following in the footsteps of condemned criminals as they faced the judge for their final sentence. St. Georges Hall aws beautiful even in the eerie atmosphere. The tour provided frightful hilarity as well as historical information about one of our cities most historic buildings.

Clay Pigeon Shooting - 26 September 2010
Beautiful Ruthin countryside, glorious weather and an amazing view, what more could you ask for on a Sunday morning? The answer, to start the day with beautiful homemade cakes and freshly made tea courtesy of Eirlys followed by one to one clay pigeon shooting lessons from Gwynfor!
On Sunday 26th September a large group of AWS members and their friends went to Ruthin North Wales for one to one clay pigeon shotting lessons. Everyone agreed this was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday.
We must take this opportunity to thank Eirlys and Gwynfor from Tyise Farm, Ruthin who made the day possible.
